HOPE (NEWS 1130) – Expect a slow drive if you’re using Highway 1 through the Fraser Canyon if you’re getting a head start on the holiday weekend.
The route is down to single-lane alternating traffic between Hope and Cache Creek.

Earlier today, the route was closed due to a forest fire just southwest of Lytton due to a small wildfire.
The wildfire has been contained.
“We have 35 firefighters on site, working to build guards. One helicopter is also bucketing and helping to support ground crews,” says Erin Catherall with the BC Wildfire Branch, who adds the fire is about seven hectares.
